Federalism is a form of Government under which the powers are divided between different levels of Government. Federalism or Power Sharing is one of the key features of democracy. The democratic Country without proper and balanced power sharing can’t run smoothly for long. Like in the case of Sri Lanka, the Majority community ignored the minority and refused to give them recognition, leading to the internal conflict in the nation asking for an independent nation for the minority, which was further denied, leading to rising conflicts and loss of life in the Country. Whereas in India, USA and Belgium, the proper recognition is given to both the majority and minority communities. In case of conflicts, the Government tries to tackle the issue with peace, not just by dismissing it as Government is for people only.
