Detailed Solution

The Brahmo Samaj, formed in 1830, prohibited all forms of idolatry and sacrifice, as believed in the Upanishads. It condemned all kinds of worship and sacrifice, followed the Upanishads, and forbade its followers from criticising other religions. It critically explored both the positive and negative aspects of religious ideals, particularly those of Hinduism. It was one of India's most influential religious movements, and it had a huge impact on modern India's growth. In August 1830, Raja Ram Mohan Roy founded the Brahmo Sabha, the Brahmo Samaj. He sought to communicate his views formally and aims through the Sabha. Ram Mohan Roy was opposed to the creation of a new religion.
