Detailed Solution

Tamil Nadu has violent opposition to adopting Hindi as the official language of India.
India is a diverse country with a wide range of cultures in every region. It is a union of 28 states and 8 union territories with a diverse language and cultural heritage. There have been numerous debates about the national language since the Constitution's inception. However, India does not have a national language because there is a distinction between an official language and a national language. The debate over Hindi and English as official languages began in 1965 when our Constitution stated that the use of English for official purposes would cease 1965. However, many non-Hindi-speaking states demanded that English be retained. This movement became violent in Tamil Nadu, and as a result, the central government agreed to continue using English alongside Hindi for official purposes. As a result, Indian political leaders' flexibility enabled our country to avoid a tense situation similar to that in Sri Lanka.
