Detailed Solution

Metternich hosted the Congress of Vienna in 1815.
The Vienna Congress of 1815 was an international diplomatic conference on restructuring the European political order after the fall of French Emperor Napoleon I. It was a gathering of European state ambassadors. The event took place in Vienna under the chairmanship of Austrian statesman Clemens von Metternich. The intent of the Congress was to provide Europe with a long-term peace plan by addressing critical issues arising from the French Revolutionary Wars and the Napoleonic Wars. The goal was not just to restore the old borders but to resize the main forces so that they could stay in balance with each other and remain in peace. More fundamentally, the conservative leaders of the Congress sought to prevent or eliminate republicanism and revolution, which upheld the constitutional order of the old European administration and continued to threaten it.
