Detailed Solution

Muhammad Bin Tughlaq introduced the token currency in the Delhi Sultanate.
After his failed expedition to Deogiri, Muhammad Bin Tughlaq produced token currency in 1330. It consisted of brass and copper coins with a value equal to gold and silver coins. Unfortunately, coins lost value due to low-quality metals used in their making. Finally, they ended up being as useless as shells.
