Detailed Solution

Timur invaded India in 1398 AD. At that time Nasiruddin Mahmud of the Tughlaq Dynasty was in power. He looted from Delhi and the adjoining areas. Immediately following the invasion, the Tughlaq dynasty was overthrown. Timur, a pious Muslim, claimed that Sultan Nasiruddin Mahmud of Delhi was treating his Hindu subjects too leniently. He entered the Indian subcontinent under disguise in the late summer of 1398, pillaging and massacring through the area.
