India is a country in South Asia which is fast becoming a centre for industries producing pesticides, zinc or lead. This is because of the abundance and cheap labour easily available in the country. Due to unemployment, people often agree to work for fewer wages and even in hazardous conditions. Also, these industries don’t consider proper safety and security facilities, even in hazardous jobs. This careless attitude was seen very well when the Bhopal gas tragedy occurred in 1984 due to harmful gas leakage from the Union Carbide company’s plant for making pesticides.
