Detailed Solution

Picketing is a form of demonstration used in the Non-Cooperation Movement in which people block the entrance to a shop, factory, or office.
The Indian independence movement from British control went through a significant phase called the Non-Cooperation Movement. The campaign sought to resist the British regime in India without resorting to violence. Protest methods included giving up titles and honours as a part of the non-cooperation policy, boycotting educational institutions connected to the government, and boycotting legal services. Picketing of stores selling foreign clothing was another effective method. Hence the protesters also picketed liquor shops. In addition, a boycott was expanded to include withdrawing the government positions and engaging in widespread civil disobedience, such as withholding taxes.
