Detailed Solution

Sesamum is a Kharif crop in the north and a rabi crop in the south. Almost all states grow sesame, whether on large or small scales. It can grow up to 1600 metres in latitude (India, 1200 m). The life cycle of the sesame plant requires a pretty high temperature. The ideal temperature for its life cycle is typically between 25 and 35 degrees Celsius. The oil content decreases if the temperature is above 40 degrees Celsius with high winds. There is a significant decrease in yield if the temperature is below 15 degrees Celsius or above 45 degrees Celsius.
