Due to indentured labour, which Indians were migrating to other countries, many settled in their new countries and did not return. This system was brought to an end in 1921. VS Naipaul was one of the Indians who won the Nobel Prize and was a descendant of the Indentured labour of India. Not just him but many others made their names in other fields like cricket. Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Ramnaresh Sarwan are also named, who earlier went to other countries as indentured labour and settled there. But their ancestry is from India.
