Detailed Solution

Chromium is a shiny metal that does not corrode and resists scratches.
Chromium:
The chemical element chromium has a symbol Cr and an atomic number 24. It is the first components of the Group 6. Cr is a shiny, brittle, and hard metal. It has a silver-grey colour and can be finely polished. It does not corrode in air, but it gives rise to and creates green chromic oxide when heated. Because chromium is unstable in oxygen, it forms an impermeable oxide layer that protects the metal below.
There are many uses of chromium, like coating cars and stoves. It has a high melting point and stable structure. It is used in the textile and refractory industries. It is also used in stainless steel due to its resistance to corrosion.
