Detailed Solution

Federalism is a system of government in which power is divided between a central authority and the country's constituent units of the country. A federation typically has two levels of government. One is the government for the entire country, which is in charge of a few subject matters of common national interest. The others are provincial or state governments in charge of much of the state's day-to-day administration. Both levels of government hold power independently of one another. The federal government has two goals: preserving national unity and accommodating regional diversity.
