Detailed Solution

Federalism is a system of government where the power is divided between a central authority and various constituent units of the country.
Federalism is a form of government in which power is split between a central authority and the country's constituent entities. A federation often has two levels of governance. The first is a general government for the entire country, which is usually in charge of a few topics of shared national concern. This is called the Union or Central government in India. The other government is the provincial or state government that handles much of the day-to-day administration of their state. Both levels of government wield power independently of one another. Federations are therefore contrasted with unitary governments which have only one level of government or the sub-units are subject to the central authority.
