Sundari tree is a well-known species of mangrove forests.
The vegetation in India is divided into five types out of which the Mangrove forests form a very important type of vegetation. These forests are known for their ability to survive in saline water. The sunderbans in West Bengal and in the Andaman and Nicobar islands are the places where these forests are found. A well-known species of trees known as Sundari is very prominent in these forests. The sunderbans here are named after the sundari tree.
