Jhumming farming or agriculture is also known as slash and burn agriculture in India. This kind of agriculture or farming falls under primitive subsistence agriculture. In Jhumming farming, primitive tools are used, and all the work is done through human labour. The rural people usually do this farming; in this, they used to burn a piece of land and grow cereals there, and when the soil fertility decreased, they cleared the other piece of land and started farming there. It has many different names: Mexico as Milpa, Central Africa as Masoli, Australia as Ladang, and Brazil as Roca.
