Detailed Solution

An alloy made of copper and tin is called bronze. Compared to other types of bronze, bell metal contains a higher percentage of tin. In the context of ancient India, the "lost wax" method was used in the production of Chola bronze statues. An initial wax image was created. It was then covered in clay and given time to dry. The clay cover was then heated and a little hole was cut in it. Through this opening, the molten wax was drained off. Then, via the opening, molten metal was poured into the clay mould. The clay cover was carefully taken off the metal when it had cooled and solidified, and the picture was then cleaned and polished.
