Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan is an initiative to provide free education to all children aged six to fourteen.
This was launched in 2001 as a Government initiative to further Human development and spread the virtuous cycle by impressing the education requirement in the parents' minds. The central Government, in collaboration with the state, local, and community self-government, has started a program with a deadline to fulfil the goal of essentializing primary-level education. It is a critical step by the Government in terms of imparting education to the entire population and improving the overall literacy rate by increasing it over the earlier levels.
