Detailed Solution

Biogas is commonly used in rural areas for cooking, and the spent dung slurry is used as manure in fields.
Gas produced by the anaerobic decomposition of organic materials like agricultural crop waste, Sewage, animal waste, food waste, and plant waste is biogas. Methane makes biogas an excellent fuel for cooking. Biogas contains 75 per cent of methane in it. Biogas needs water, and it doesn’t need oxygen. The agent that helps in the decomposition of animal dung into biogas is anaerobic microorganisms. These microorganisms don’t require oxygen for their growth. Hence they grow and decompose or break down complex compounds of the cow-dung slurry. The spent dung slurry is used as manure in fields.
