The respective state government officially issues a ration card. These cards help people to get food grains from the ration cards at an affordable rate, according to the National Food Security Act (NFSA), 2013. The ration shops are available mainly at all places, but there are some problems with the functioning of the ration shops. The ration shops issue the ration cards but only to those who have proper residential addresses. This is why most poor homeless people do not get access to the foodgrain even if there is a facility.
