Detailed Solution

New Delhi is the busiest railway junction in all of North India.
Regarding frequency, New Delhi Railway Junction is one of India's busiest railway stations. Over 250 trains begin, finish, or pass by the station every day. When railways from Howrah, Calcutta started running up to Delhi in 1864, it was built close to Chandni Chowk. In 1864, a broad gauge train from Calcutta was the station's first train. Rajputana State Railway constructed a metre-gauge rail from Delhi to Rewari and then on to Ajmer in 1873, and metre-gauge trains began departing from this station in 1876. Its current structure, which opened in 1903, was built by the British Indian administration in the design of the neighbouring Red Fort.
