Gujarat is India's largest producer of groundnut. It farms about 20 lakh hectares of groundnut and is India's largest producer of groundnut. In terms of area and production, groundnut dominates all oilseed crops in the nation, accounting for more than 40–50%. Groundnut takes the top spot among oilseed crops in the country. The whole crop is grown on around 85 lakh hectares in India. Its cultivation is primarily restricted to the States of Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Orissa and Punjab.
