Detailed Solution

Low-grade brown coal is called lignite. The lowest-ranking coal, lignite, has a carbon content of 28–30% carbon content. Brown coal often forms a sedimentary rock and is naturally flammable. Due to its high volatile chemical content, lignite is easily transformed into liquid and gas forms, including petroleum products.
