Representative democracy is the most common form of democracy in today's world. It is because most democracies have a large number of people. Thus, all can't get directly involved in the decision-making process. In Direct democracies, unlike indirect democracies, each person participates in the decision-making process. It can be seen in the villages where all villagers sit together to discuss issues and problems of the town. In indirect democracies, people vote for representatives, who then vote on policy initiatives and give opinions or suggestions on behalf of those who voted for them. In direct democracies, people directly vote on policies, and in indirect democracies, people elect representatives by voting.
