Detailed Solution

Apartheid is the name of a system of racial discrimination unique to South Africa. It is a racial discrimination system in which people are divided based on the colour of their skin. It was imposed in South Africa by the white European colonial rulers who continued to settle in the country. Because the native residents of Africa were black, they were referred to as "Blacks". The Europeans and some other white African citizens were referred to as 'whites'. Others of mixed races were referred to as 'coloureds', including Indians who migrated to the country. It imposed segregation between the whites and non-whites, treating the non-white people as second-class citizens who were not even granted voting rights.
