Detailed Solution

The northernmost city on the North-South route is Srinagar. The North-South Corridor would stretch 4,076 kilometres from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu to Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir. The government spearheaded the construction of six-lane Super Highways linking Delhi with Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, and Delhi. This project comprises the North-South routes between Kanyakumari and Srinagar (Jammu & Kashmir), as well as the East-West Corridor connecting Silchar (Assam) and Porbandar (Gujarat) (Tamil Nadu). These Super Highways' major objective is to reduce the distance and travel time between India's megacities. India's National Roadway Authority is carrying out these highway construction projects.
