Detailed Solution

Srinagar is the Northernmost terminal of the North-South Corridor.
The North-South Corridor covers 4,076 kilometres from Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir to Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu. The government has started a significant effort to build six-lane Super Highways connecting Delhi with Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, and Delhi. This project includes the East-West Corridor connecting Silchar (Assam) and Porbandar (Gujarat), as well as the North-South routes connecting Srinagar (Jammu & Kashmir) and Kanyakumari (Tamil Nadu). The main goal of these Super Highways is to shorten the travel time and distance to connect India's megacities. The National Roadway Authority of India is implementing these highway projects.
