Detailed Solution

Luni is the only large river in the Indian desert of Rajasthan.
The Indian desert is located on the western outskirts of the Aravali Hills. The annual rainfall in this region is less than 150 mm. During the wet season, streams appear. They soon vanish into the sand since they do not have enough water to reach the sea. Luni is the only major river in this area. The Luni river flows from the Naga hills of the Aravalli range in Rajasthan's Ajmer district and rises to a length of 772 metres. It is commonly referred to as Sagarmatha in India. The heavy salt concentration in the soil causes the water in this river to become saline. Luni is the sole name given to it after that.
