Detailed Solution

Rice is the primary food crop for most Indians. As of 2020-21, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab are India's top 3 rice-producing states. Approximately 36% of India's rice production comes from these three states. In India, West Bengal contributed 13.62% of the total rice production. The state of Uttar Pradesh contributed 12.81% to India's total rice production. Ninety-six per cent of the rice produced in India was produced in Punjab. The Kharif season is when rice is harvested. Over 100 cm of rain is needed each year to grow rice. High humidity and high temperatures are required. A temperature of at least 25 degrees Celsius is required.
