The Russian term for a representative body was called the "Duma." The Imperial Duma, which was created due to the Russian Revolution, was subjected to it. It was a partially elected representative body (1906-1917). In 1905, it was founded by Tsar Nicholas II, the head of the Tsarist administration. A lot was expected of the Duma from its constituents. They believed it would enact democracy within the state. They later learned, however, that the Duma would have two chambers, one of which would be elected by the Russian people and the other by the Tsar himself and that only one of the chambers would be. Concerning the other chamber, the chamber chosen by the Tsar held veto authority. In the future, the Tsar kept his "Super Autocratic Power." In all of the institution's existence, there were four Dumas. 1906, 1907, 1907–12, and 1912–17 are the starting dates. Peasants, members of the ruling class, businessmen, and labourers were all represented in these Dumas. Even now, Duma is the name of the Russian parliament.
