Aliya Rama Raya led the forces in the Battle of Talikota. During the Battle of Talikota, which took place in a small village in modern-day Karnataka, the Sultanate defeated Vijayanagar and killed Aliya Rama Raya. Hampi was looted and destroyed, leaving it in the shambles that it is today. The Deccan sultans finally overthrew the Vijayanagara kingdom in the region in the late 16th century. The end of Islamic rule resulted in widespread looting, destruction, and finally, the abandonment of a country in ruins. There were several Muslim sultanates close to the Hindu Vijayanagara dynasty. In the pivotal battle of Talikota, its army was routed by the united armies of the Muslim countries of Bijapur, Ahmadnagar, and Golconda, and Vijayanagar's capital was obliterated. They were Golconda, Bijapur, Bidar, Berar, and Ahmednagar.
