Detailed Solution

Muslim merchants were collectively known as Moors. The markets of the city of Hampi were usually flooded with merchants from various communities and religions, such as Chettis, and representatives of European tradesmen, precisely like the Portuguese. Hampi was located in the Krishna-Tungabhadra basin, which served as the center of the 1336-founded Vijayanagara Empire. The city of Hampi was well-protected. The walls were constructed without the use of any cement. Instead, the walls interlocked and pounded together. Hampi was an active city thriving with commercial and cultural activities from the fifteenth to the sixteenth century. Devadasis were performed for the deity, the monarchy, and a large crowd in the multi-pillared halls of the Virupaksha temple, which was the center of cultural activity.
