Detailed Solution

Central Board of Film Certification certifies both Indian and foreign films.
A statutory body under the Information and Broadcasting Ministry of India, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), was established in 1951 for film certification. The CBFC committee must screen all publicly broadcast films before being exhibited. The Bombay Board of Film Censors was changed to CBFC following the Cinematograph Act of 1952. It ensures that public entertainment is maintained healthily and acts as the standard for the distribution of films. The body has laid out several guidelines which are followed strictly to certify a film. The films not following the guidelines and not receiving certification are not eligible for public display in India.
