Detailed Solution

Surontiko Samin of  Randublatung village started questioning state ownership of forests. The imperial Dutch took over most of Indonesia in the late nineteenth century. The abundant natural resources in the area were the focus of the Dutch attempt to monopolise control. In addition to many timberlands, these resources included spice lands. A teak forest village named Randublatung's Surontiko Samin started refuting the state's ownership of the forest around 1890. In his view, the government could not claim ownership of nature because it was not its creation. A large-scale movement started to emerge soon. Samin's sons-in-law participated in its organisation. His ideas had been adopted by 3,000 families by 1907. When the Dutch came to survey their land, some Saminists demonstrated by lying down on it, while others refused to pay taxes, fines, or do any labour.
