Detailed Solution

General Dyer ordered the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
The national leaders Dr Saifuddin Kitchlew and Dr Satya Pal were detained on April 10, 1919, in connection with demonstrations against the Rowlatt Act, which sparked widespread unrest among the people of Punjab. In Jallianwala Bagh, protesters gathered on April 13, 1919, Baisakhi day, to voice their opposition to these detentions. Both adults and children attended the peaceful gathering. However, General Dyer, the Amritsar city's military commander, arrived at the park with a few soldiers and closed off the only exit. He then ordered his men to fire. Thus thousands of people were injured, and hundreds were killed during the 10-minute firing.
