Concept: There are two main types of nutrition. First is the autotrophic and second is the heterotrophic.
Autotrophic nutrition is defined as a process in which an organism prepares its own food from simple inorganic material such as water, mineral salts and carbon dioxide in the presence of sunlight. Each autotrophic organism has chlorophyll which helps them to synthesize their own food by the process of photosynthesis.
Synthesized food is then transported to different parts of the plant for storage and utilization.
