The most important activity of the Banjara community was the trading of excellent barter systems. Banjara is the name of the group. They travelled around looking for good pasture and a decent meal for their cattle, allowing their animals to graze in the area. They use a barter system (exchange of items) to obtain grains and food for their own and their families consumption. They also sold plough cattle to the local peasants, which is livestock that can plough the fields. They exchange commodities for grains or other commodities because they do not have a direct supply.
