Detailed Solution

Iris regulates and controls the amount of light entering the eye.
Iris is a dark muscular diaphragm situated just behind the cornea. It has a small opening in the middle of the pupil, through which light enters the eye. When it is bright outside, the iris, a visible part of the eye, reduces the diameter of the pupil to control how much light enters the eye through it. The body's natural instinct is to control how much light gets into the eyes. The eye adjusts itself when it is dark so that a lot of light can enter it, but when it is really bright outside, it limits the quantity of light that can enter the eye.
