Maximilian Robespierre’s reign is known as the Reign of Terror.
The era between 1793 and 1794 is known as the Reign of Terror. Maximillian Robespierre was its leader. He implemented a strict control and punishment policy. All those he considered "enemies" of the republic, including ex-nobles and clergy, members of other political parties, and even his party, were seized, imprisoned, and convicted by a revolutionary tribunal. If the court deemed them guilty, they were executed by guillotine. Thus, there was no room for compromise in Robespierre's policies. Even his followers grew bored of them in time. Finally, in July 1794, he was convicted by a court, arrested, and executed the next day.
