Detailed Solution

Shah Jahan reigned from 1627 to 1658. Under the reign of Shah Jahan, the Mughal campaigns continued in the Deccan. Noble Khan Jahan Lodi rebelled during the reign of Shah Jahan and was defeated. Several campaigns were launched against the Ahmadnagar, the Bundelas were defeated and Orchha was captured. In 1632 Ahmednagar was finally annexed and Bijapur forces sued for peace. The campaign to seize Balkh from the Uzbeks in the northwest was unsuccessful and Qandahar was lost to the Safavids. There was a conflict between the sons of Shah Jahan over the succession from 1657 to 1658. Aurangzeb emerged victorious and Shah Jahan was imprisoned for the rest of his life in Agra.
