Dr B.R.Ambedkar emphasised the importance of economic and social democracy in addition to political democracy. However, allowing people to vote would not immediately eliminate other inequities, such as between rich and poor or between upper and lower castes. He predicted that India would begin a life of contradictions under the new Constitution. He also stated that the country's social and economic framework would continue to deny the idea of one man, one value in our social and economic lives.
