The eighth schedule of the Indian constitution deals with the official languages of India.
The eighth schedule describes the 22 recognized state languages ​​of India. When the constitution had prepared on 26 November, 14 languages ​​had mentioned in it. In 1967, more language as Sindhi was added by the 21st Constitutional Amendment, after which 15 languages ​​became the official language. Later in 1992, 3 languages were added to the Indian Constitution by constitutional amendments such as Manipuri, Konkani, and Nepali. In 2003, 4 more languages were installed by the 92nd Constitutional amendments as Dogri, Bodo, Santhali, and Maithili languages, and the Oriya language was renamed Odiya by the 96th Constitutional Amendment.
