Detailed Solution

Rajendra I seized a Nandi statue from the Eastern Chalukyas.
Kings built temples to demonstrate their wealth, prestige, and power. They symbolised the magnitude of force they wielded in their territory. However, grand temples made kings susceptible to attacks as well. An example of this is the case of the Pandyan king Shrimara Shrivallabha. He defeated Sri Lanka by invading and seizing their valuables, including the gold Buddha statue. Rajendra I seized prized statues from defeated rulers and stored them in his Shiva temple. His collection included a Ganesha statue, a Sun-pedestal that belonged to Chalukyas, a Nandi statue to Eastern Chalukyas, and a Kali statue of Palas of Bengal.
