Detailed Solution

Dr B.R. Ambedkar started the temple entry movement. He started it in 1927. It was a campaign to let members of lower castes enter temples. The Gandhian or nationalist strategy was used by the temple entry campaign to combat caste discrimination. Lower caste individuals were prohibited from entering the grounds of temples in Kerala during the 20th century. Between 1927 and 1935, Ambedkar spearheaded three such campaigns for temple entry. He wanted everyone to understand the influence caste stereotypes had on society.
