Detailed Solution

Humayun succeeded to the throne after the demise of Babur. As per the will of Babur, Humayun divided the inheritance amongst the brothers. Every brother was allotted to each province. Humayun's cause against the Afghan competitors was weakened because of the ambitions of his brother Mirza Kamran. Humayun was defeated by Sher Khan in Chausa in 1539 and Kanauj in 1540 because of which he had to flee to Iran. Humayun received help from Safavid Shah in Iran. In 1555 he recaptured the city of Delhi but one year later only he died in an accident in one of his buildings.
