Detailed Solution

Jewish and Arab traders were the first ones to come to Kerala. Kerala is bounded on one side by the sea and the other by hills. The spices are what made this region appealing to traders. The first traders to arrive were Jewish and Arab. Arab traders arrived and established themselves here. The Cochin Jews are the oldest Jewish community in India, having roots that are said to go back to King Solomon's reign. In South India's Kingdom of Cochin, which is now a part of the state of Kerala, the Cochin Jews made their home. Benjamin of Tudela references the Jews in southern India as early as the 12th century. They are credited with creating the Malayalam dialect known as Judeo-Malayalam.
