Detailed Solution

Babur used Hindustan to describe the geography of the subcontinent.
The first Mughal Emperor, Babur, referred to the Indian subcontinent as Hindustan while describing its terrain, culture, and vegetation. However, "Hindustan" now refers to the nation-state of India. Hindustan, according to Babur, refers to the geographical, linguistic, and botanical regions of the subcontinent. In the thirteenth century, "Hindustan" had a different meaning. It was also used to describe the plains between the Ganges and the Yamuna and parts of Punjab and Haryana.
Because of this, the term "Hindustan" was once used to refer to various geographical and cultural locations, albeit it did not then have the same political or national connotations as it does now. However, our country is now recognised as "Hindustan" in current times.
