Detailed Solution

Vinaya Pitaka, also known as the Basket of Discipline, was a book wherein all the rules made for the Buddhist sangha were written down. It was written by Gautam Buddha himself as guidance and conduct for men and women. It consists of five books- Parajika, Pachittiya, Mahavagga, Chullavagga and Parivara. It consists of the rules regarding the sanghas. Men were allowed to join the sanghas; however, children required permission from their parents and women from their husbands. Slaves required permission from their masters to attend the sanghas.
