Detailed Solution

The Rakhi system was a new system introduced by the Sikhs in the eighteenth century. Under this arrangement, cultivators were protected from external invasion if they paid a tax equal to 20% of the product. In the eighteenth century, the Sikhs gathered together in various groupings called jathas and later misls, led by various strong leaders. Their combined forces are called the "big army" (Dal Khalsa). Around Baisakhi and Diwali, the entire body would convene in Amritsar to make choices known as "resolutions of the Guru (gurmatas)."
