Detailed Solution

Suhungmung was an important Ahom ruler in the 16th century.
Suhungmung ascended to the throne of the Ahom kingdom in 1497. Because he established his capital at Bakata on the Dihing, he was also known as Dihingia Raja. The first Assamese buranji, "Sri Swarganarayan Maharaj Janmakatha," was written during his reign. He adopted the Hindu title "Swarganarayan." Ahom King Suhungmung (r. 1497–1539), also known as Dihingia Roja I, was one of the most significant figures in Assam's mediaeval history. In contrast to early Ahom rule, his reign created a multiethnic polity in his kingdom. From 1497 to 1539 AD, Suhungmung, a member of the Ahom dynasty, ruled over the kingdom. Suhungmung's reign significantly impacted Assam's history during the middle ages.
