Detailed Solution

Surat was occupied by the Mughal emperor Akbar, and under his rule, it emerged as one of the major commercial cities of India.
Surat was taken over by the Mughal emperor Akbar in 1573 AD, and during his reign, it grew to become one of India's principal commercial centres. Because of its trade relations (export/import) with foreign nations and its domestic production of cloth and other materials, Surat developed into a port city with wealth and prosperity. Luxury goods were gathered by European traders and sold there. During the Mughal era, Surat flourished as a significant commercial centre thanks to its growing reputation as a producer of cotton textiles of all kinds. West Asia, Africa, and Europe were all export markets for Surat textiles.
